SCHOOL RESOURCES AND FACILITIES
School Hall
After many years of fundraising, our School and Community Hall was
built in 1997. It consists of a large communal area, full kitchen
facilities, foyer, toilets, staging and a small committee room. The
School does have priority use but welcomes community use of the
Hall. All bookings are made through the Receptionist at the School
office, ph 09 4268915 Ext 200
Rates are:
$30 per hour casual booking
$20 per hour regular booking
$150 fee 5 hour function
A bond is required to secure all bookings
Art Room
In the centre of the school, we have a double classroom space
multi-purpose room which is used for any form of Art Activity. This
is also available for community use, outside of normal school hours.
Library
The school library is in the central area of the school and is a
delight to enter. It is open throughout the day and also before and
after school. Parents are most welcome to visit the Library with
their children to exchange books and enjoy the environment.
Computer Facilities
Each of our classrooms house at least six desktop computers and an
ICT projection device. Alongside this equipment, we also have a
dedicated digital classroom with 16 “state of the art” computers.
This is available for internal bookings during the day and is well
utilized by our students at lunch times. All of the computers are
networked and connected to the internet.
Outside Learning Areas
We have excellent spaces for outside activities, including two large
hard-court areas and an extensive field, which the children utilise
for both sporting and play activities
Travel to School
Wherever possible, our students are encouraged to either walk or
cycle to school for both the purpose of their own fitness and to
help reduce the number of cars entering and exiting the school area.
Next to the Motuora Special Needs Unit, close to the front entrance
of the school is a secure covered area for our students to store
their bicycles. Once our Y5/6 students have gained their “cycle
licence” they are welcome to ride their bikes to school. All
age-groups are welcome to ride to school if they are accompanied by
an adult.
After school the trained Year 6 road patrol monitors ensure safe
passage across Red Beach Road and Albert Hall Drive every school
day.
The School has two “walking buses”, travelling from the Rosario
Crescent and William Bayes Street areas. All information about how
to join the Walking School Buses is available from the School
Office.
Red Beach School is part of the overall public bus route and there
are two bus shelters provided on both Red Beach Road and Albert Hall
Drive.
School Dental Clinic
The school has an on-site dental clinic which serves the wider
Hibiscus Coast Area. The dental therapists can be contacted on 09
4265310.
